Plain-English explainer
What is the proposed Investment Account?
The proposed account would bring investments and their tax administration together. Your provider would handle account-tax calculations, reporting and payment to Revenue, and monitor the contribution limit.
An annual tax would apply to average account value above a tax-free threshold, including money paid in. The threshold and rate remain undecided.
